2009 DODGE CHARGER: WHAT’S NEW FOR 2009 Exterior: Interior: Electrical: Powertrain / Chassis: Safety and Security: 2009 DODGE CHARGER SRT8: WHAT’S NEW FOR 2009Leaving aside the allegedly restyled tail lamps as despite what Dodge says, we fail to see any visible differences with the ones found on the ’08 model, the most notable change on the 2009 Charger is the new-generation 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine on the RWD and AWD R/T models with improved fuel efficiency and increased horsepower. According to Dodge, the revised 5.7-liter HEMI V8 produces an estimated 368 HP and 395 lb.-ft. or 536 Nm of torque compared to the ’08 5.7L Hemi V8 that was rated at 340 HP (350HP with the Road/Track Performance option) and 390 lb.-ft. or 525 Nm of torque respectively.
