New Infiniti G25 with 218HP 2.5L V6, Priced from $30,950

Infiniti is taking all the new car headlines at this year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance show. Along with the presentation of the 348HP kitted-out G Coupe from the firm's new IPL performance division, Infiniti used the event to announce the introduction of a new entry level model in the G sedan range, the G25 equipped with a 2.5-liter V6 engine under the hood.

It will join the rest of the Infiniti models in showrooms this September with prices starting from $30,950 (before handling and destination fees), or $2,300 less than the more powerful G37 sedan.

Like its Japanese brethren, the Skyline 250GT, the U.S. market G25 sedan makes use of Nissan's VQ25HR 2.5-liter V6. It produces 218-horsepower and 187 lb-ft of torque, versus the G37's 3.7-liter V6's 328-horsepower and 269 lb-ft.

The G25 Sedan comes with a standard 7-speed automatic transmission and is available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. No word on the availability of a manual gearbox.

"With the new G25 Sedan, we're broadening the appeal of the G Line with a model designed to provide an additional choice for buyers looking for a true luxury sedan, but who might not need the higher levels of performance provided by our larger engine-equipped G37 models," said Infiniti Vice President Ben Poore.

The G25 will be offered in three flavors, G25 Sedan, G25 Sedan Journey and G25x Sedan AWD. Standard features on all models include leather seats, 8-way power driver's seat and 4-way power front passenger's seat, Automatic Temperature Control, premium audio system with six speakers and XM Satellite Radio, 17-inc h alloys, xenon headlamps, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and Traction Control System (TCS).

Moving up to the G25 Journey model adds RearView Monitor, heated front seats, heated outside mirrors, auto on/off headlights and Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control.
