V8 Hotel in Germany Offers (Vrrr)Rooms For Car Enthusiasts

For those of you looking to pick up your Mercedes-Benz or Porsche from the factory, or if you're simply in Stuttgart for a few days visiting the... mistress, may we suggest you check out the V8 Hotel. Found in the Meilenwerk, "a forum promoting driving culture", the hotel is just a car-themed venue to be enjoyed by the whole family.

The hotel features a few different areas, including an old airport building that houses the standard rooms and something called "the old shipyard" that features the automotive rooms. Some of the auto stuff is pretty snazzy (like the Vision room), and some is delightfully tacky (the drive-in).

If, however, you find it weird being a big boy and sleeping in a car bed, the hotel can accommodate you in more adult rooms featuring a modern, Bauhaus design and feel.

The themed rooms include: AutoKino (drive-in movie with a Caddy bed), V8 Camp (outdoors with the sexy swing), Racing (manufacturer logos and racers at the track), Werkstatt (a garage with a Morris and mechanic's legs), Carwash (old Benz with spinny-brushes), Vision (by far the coolest with a turbine-like sleeping area), Tuning (with racing buckets and a lot of tiger print), Nostalgie (a junkyard), Tankstelle (gas station with a Herbie), and Motocycle (with an out-west Route 66 theme).

For the big spender, there's the 3-story, 90 square-meter Zeppelin suite, which snags you a 20 square-meter roof terrace, a sauna, and a view of the old airport. Now, who still says my Ferrari bed is childish?
