Arden Takes On the New Jaguar XJ Saloon

The all-new Jaguar XJ is one of those cars you either love or hate. There is no middle ground with this strange mix of old and new, of traditionalism and modern manufacturing techniques. Now German tuners Arden, perhaps best known these days for tuning Jaguars, Minis and Land Rovers, have returned to their roots and taken the big cat for another turn around the workshop.

The XJ's exterior gets a subtle bodykit, stainless steel mesh grille, LED fog lights, 21-inch alloys and the brand's now defunct leaping cat emblem. It's the interior, though, where things start to get interesting. Customers can specify a whole host of options including several varieties of Connolly Leather or Alcantara as well as carbon, chrome or wood for the trim. Dynamic interior lighting helps further accentuate the Arden Jag from the norm.

The full details are all rather sketchy at the moment, including what modifications were done to the XJ's 5.0 L petrol and 3.0 L diesel engines, though hopefully these will be released at a later date. Until then you can sit back and admire our fine gallery of photos from Arden's website.

Arden Tricks Out 2010 Jaguar XKR Convertible

Never satisfied with the factory Jaguars, German tuner Arden has introduced its take on the revised 2010 Jaguar XKR Convertible. Arden starts by hiking the performance of the new 5.0-liter supercharged V8 that gains 30 horsepower and 50 Nm of torque for a total output of 540 horsepower and 675 Nm (498 lb-ft). A sport suspension with new shocks and the removal of the electronic speed limiter complete the changes under the skin.

The tuner covers the XKR Convertible's front grille and air-intakes with handmade, chrome-plated stainless steel grilles while at the rear there's a new diffuser that houses the tail pipes of the new sport exhaust system. Of course, no Arden model would be complete without flashy wheels, and there's room for a new set of 21-inch Sportline alloys.

Arden Goes Back to the Future with Jaguar A-Type AJ18

Now here's something we don't see very often. Back at the 1999 Frankfurt motor show, German tuner Arden presented the special edition A-Type AJ18 based on the Jaguar XK (1997-2005 model) that was produced in a limited run of 13 units. Ten years later and Arden has decided to reissue the A-Type AJ18 and build another five vehicles bringing the total to 18 pieces.

In essence, the A-Type AJ18 package tries to give the road-legal Jaguar XK a more racing look with a full body kit made out of special carbon composite material. Along with the new front and rear fenders which widen the car up to 50mm or about 2.0-in., the A-type conversion adds a 3-air gill vent in the front fenders, reworked front bumper with stainless steel mesh upper and lower grille plus a lip spoiler, race-spec mirrors, side skirts and a revised rear bumper.

The XK's looks are rounded off by a large rear wing and 20-inch Sportline alloy wheels in chunkier tires.

The mechanical upgrades of the A-Type package include a high-performance braking system with 370mm discs and 6-piston fixed caliper, and a sport suspension developed in cooperation with Bilstein that lowers the vehicle by 30mm.

Arden’s Jaguar XF Based AJ 21 with up to 550 HP

Arden AJ21 Jaguar XFArden has finally released real life images and mechanical details on its latest creation, the Jaguar XF based AJ 21. The top of the line version of the AJ 21 gets a supercharged V8 engine stroked out from 4.2-liters to 4.5-liters delivering an output of about 550 HP, which should be more than enough to take the “wildcat” into M5 territory.

Although that’s the Jag to go for, the German tuning firm also offers a 4.5-liter version for both the naturally aspirated and supercharged 4.2-liter V8 engines, increasing output by 80 HP to 380 HPand 500 HP respectively. In the case of the 2.7-liter V6 diesel engine, Arden’s tuning kit bumps power from the standard 207 HP to 250 HP. Other modifications include a specially developed custom sport suspension from Arden combined with light weight 21-inch alloy wheels. -Continued

The Jaguar XF’s exterior has received an extensive treatment that includes a full bodykit with a new front bumper with larger air vents and integrated LED daylights, new side sills that incorporate functional air inlets for better cooling of the rear brakes, a relatively discreet rear lid spoiler and a rear diffuser. Look a bit closer at the front end and you may notice the jaguar ornament on the hood along with the revised the radiator grille which is now more oval-shaped.

Arden Range Rover AR7 with 520Hp Twin-Supercharged V8

Arden’s latest development is the AR7 based on the Range Rover that features a series of mechanical and aesthetic upgrades. For starters, the German tuning firm enlarged the capacity of the Range Rover’s V8 engine from 4.2 to 4.5-liters and added a high performance twin screw supercharger. The V8’s output has been increased to an ample 520Hp with a maximum torque of 680Nm or 501.5 lbs-ft. Despite the impressive output, the AR7 manages a mediocre 6.5 sec for the 0 - 100 km/h (0-62mph) sprint. For example, the stock Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in 5.5 sec. -Continued

In addition to the mechanical upgrades, Arden has dressed the Range Rover with a tasteful bodykit that includes a wide front apron with LED daytime running lights, wheel arch extensions, side skirts and a newly developed rear apron that incorporates a new set of rectangular tailpipes. The AR7’s looks are complemented by new 22 or 23-inch forged alloy wheels.

Finally, the AR7’s interior has been dressed in leather and alcantara that can be ordered in any colour desired while there are also a wide variety of high-grade woods, chrome, carbon and aluminium applications for the dash and the door trims.
