Paris Preshow: 2011 Citroën Picasso and Grand Picasso

These are the first official photos of Citroën's mildly refreshed Picasso 5-seater and Grand Picasso 7-seater MPVs, which are both due to make their first public appearance at this month's Paris Motor Show. The styling changes on the outside are rather minuscule and include the addition of the latest fad to hit the auto industry, LED daytime running lights up front, along with re-trimmed tail lamps, and for the Grand Picasso, a new rear hatch logo.

The new upholstery and color options for the interior, and the introduction of Citroën's optional micro-hybrid e-HDi fuel-saving technology, which features a combined alternator-starter to stop and start the engine, round off the changes for the 2011MY versions of the French firm's compact minivans, which will go on sale across Europe before the end of the year.

Paris Show Cars Videos : 2007 Citroen C4 Picasso

The "extra-terrestrial" C-Metisse might gather most of the flashes in Citroen's Paris stand, but when the show's lights close, this is the one that'll get all the attention. And why shouldn't it? The C4 Picasso has its own signature styling that sets it apart from most of the other euro MPV's like the boxy VW Touran and Ford C-MAX, without compromising on interior space. Apart from the 7seat edition shown in the video, the C4 Picasso will also be available in a 5seat version with different rear end styling (see more here: C4 Picasso 5S Scoop)

Scoop : 2007 Citroen C4 Picasso 5 Seat

The wonders of technology... Thanks to a cell-phone camera we've got an "inside look" on Citroen's forthcoming 5seater edition of the new C4 Picasso. As previewed a few months ago from a French mag
azine (see pictures bellow), apart from the seats, the basic difference between the 7seater C4 Picasso, which will make its world premiere at Paris, is a shorter rear end which has a more sporty styling thanks to more "arched" roof and the longitudinal placed light clusters. According to my information, the 5seat C4 Picasso will be presented at next years Geneva Motor Show in March with pan-european sales starting in July.

2007 Citroen C4 Picasso Press Release

Following yesterdays leak (click here C4 Picasso), Citroen came out with the official press release for its 2007 C4 Picasso which will make its world-premier appearance at the 2006 Paris Motor Show. The 4.6 m long 7seat MPV will be available with a 2.0 petrol & diesel engines producing 143 & 138 Hp respectively.

Panoramic Windscreen & Sunroof: A standard wide-angle panoramic windscreen that doubles the visibility at the front of the vehicle. The vertical angle of visibility is 70o, compared with just 35o in a conventional MPV. C4 Picasso boasts the largest glazed area on the compact MPV market, reaching a full 6.4 m2 with the panoramic glass sunroof.

Interior Lighting & Practicality: The passenger compartment remains just as welcoming and atmospheric at night thanks to a host of original lighting sources, such as light guides under the front fascia, in the door panels and in the headlining that diffuse soft, gentle light inside the vehicle. Lighting can be customised day and night by selecting a colour on the control cluster, and the air conditioning screens at either end of the dashboard are illuminated by yellow lights.

A dashboard-mounted automatic electric parking brake that does away with the mechanical hand brake between the front seats. The reorganisation of the interior has created enough space for four large, closed storage compartments in the dashboard, including a refrigerated cubby that can hold one 1.5-litre bottle or two 0.5-litre bottles.

Dimensions: C4 Picasso is an exceptionally spacious vehicle. Its architecture and dimensions (4.59 m long, 1.83 m wide and 1.66 m high) make for a roomy interior. The three rows of seats can comfortably accommodate up to seven passengers.

Boot Space C4 Picasso offers an exceptionally comfortable interior without reducing the size of the boot. The amount of boot space depends on the interior layout. In the most common configuration, with the seats in row three folded away and the row-two seats pushed right back, the volume beneath the parcel shelf of 576 litres VDA. When all the seats are folded away, maximum capacity is 1,951 litres VDA.

Three Rows-7 Seats: The second row of seats can all be folded away in a single movement without removing the headrests. The 3rd-row seating can be easily folded away under the floor without removing the headrests. The original movements of the seats allow for easy access to the 3rd row. The cushions of the 2nd-row side seats are automatically lifted towards the seat back, much like a cinema seat, by pressing a control. The seats then slide up against the front seat-backs in a single movement.

Engines & Gearbox: The C4 Picasso features a new six-speed electronic gearbox system, coupled to the 143 bhp 2litre petrol engine or the 110 bhp or 138 bhp HDi diesel powerplants with particulate filters.

The quick, precise shifts of the six-speed electronic gearbox system deliver outstanding performance and one of the smoothest drives in its category. This gearbox also helps reduce fuel consumption by 4 to 5 per cent and CO2 emissions by 5 g per km.

2007 Citroen Picasso MPV Revealed

Following the "apocalypse" of a... chinese scale model of Citroen's forthcoming Picasso MPV on e-bay (click here to see: 2007 Citroen Picasso), these photos of the real thing showed up on the net today. The C4 based mid-sized MPV will be officialy revealed at the Paris Motor Show in September. Although less stylish than its predecessor -something that could be considered as an asset... the Picasso seems a bit more intresting to look at than most of its rivals (Ford C-Max, VW Touran etc).

Most importantly, the 2007 Picasso hopes to become the future French soccer-mom's dream car, since it now comes equipped with three rows of seats that can fit up to seven passengers. More on Citroen's 2007 Picasso to come...

A Question to Ponder- How the heck did the chinese manage to practically replicate a scale model (picture in the left) of the Picasso months before it's set to be unveiled ?

Could this be the 2007 Citroen C4 Picasso?

Found this one on e-bay, a 1/43 scale model that want's us to believe it's the real thing –the 2007 Citroen C4 Picasso MPV that is scheduled to be unveiled in Paris in September. Although the car seems a tad different than the various scoops have suggested it to be, I have to say that this chinese made 1/43 model doesn't look anything out of the ordinary so it may very well be giving us a glimpse of the real production model.
