Hartge BMW 1-Series V300+: 550Hp LPG Powered Car To Break Speed Record

Carscoop_V300_BMW_100In conjunction with the University of Technology and Economics in Saarbruecken, the German environment ministry, state economics department officials and automotive and energy specialists, Hartge has developed a prototype version of the BMW 1-Series fitted with a 550Hp strong engine that runs on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Dubbed V300+, the project car will attempt to break the world land speed record by achieving a top speed in excess of 300 km/h. Engines fuelled on LPG are not only cheaper to run than a petrol unit –due to the lower cost of LPG, but they’re also much cleaner and in many cases, produce more power and torque than petrol units of a similar capacity.-Continued after the jump
