New Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer Priced Less than Outgoing Model in the UK


Vauxhall is following an aggressive pricing policy with its new Astra Sports Tourer that will enter the UK market later this year after its world premiere at the Paris motorshow in September. The base 1.4-liter 100HP SE model starts at £16,575, or more than £500 less than the current entry-level Astra Estate. The premium over the 5-door hatchback model is £995.

The base model comes equipped with standard air conditioning, curtain airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESP), Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), an aux-in socket and Active Safety Front Head Restraints.

UK buyers can choose among four different trim levels (ES, Exclusiv, SE and SRi) and seven powerplants including, three petrols (100HP 1.4-liter, 115HP 1.6-liter, 140HP 1.4-liter Turbo) and four turbodiesels (95HP 1.3-liter CDTi, 110HP 1.7-liter CDTi, 125HP 1.7-liter CDTi, 160HP 2.0-liter CDTi) matched to either manual or automatic transmissions.
